Convert an Audio CD to MP3 |

1.
Open Windows Media Player.
2. Open the TOOLS menu. Click on Options, and choose the Rip
Music tab. If you don't see a menu with TOOLS in it, right
click near the bottom of Media Player in an empty spot to the right or
left of the Play, Fast Forward, etc. controls, and choose Show
Classic Menus. You should now see a TOOLS selection in the upper
left corner of Media Player. |

Under "Rip music to this location" it will probably default to the
My Music folder inside Documents and Settings. Hit the Change button
to choose a different folder if you want to save to a different location.
4. In the "Format" drop down list, choose MP3.
5. Under "Audio Quality", move the slider to the maximum bit your
phone will handle. If you're not sure, choose 128 Kbps. It will
probably work
6. Click OK.
7. Load the CD you wish to convert. If it starts playing in
Media Player, hit the Stop button. |

| 8. In
WMP, on the Taskbar, choose Rip. If the Taskbar is not visible,
choose VIEW on the menu bar, then chose Menu Bar Options and uncheck Hide
Taskbar. |

9.
You'll be presented with the song list as above. Check the ones you
want to convert to MP3, and click on the Rip Music button.
10. A progress bar will show in the Rip Status column, so you'll
know when it's done.
11. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer and find the folder where
you saved the file.
12. Play it just to make sure everything went as planned. |
